Our Show Piece: Women in Jazz Wall Hanging

Inspiration: Once I decided that in order to achieve, I needed to know about myself. I needed to know who I am, what inspires me, and what’s the passion in my life. I began a journey of self discovery.

My journey has been in all facets of my life- particularly, in the creative side- my love of fabrics. I love the textures, the colors, and the ability to manipulate it to become something else. It is my "PASSION"! I started to visualize the "POSSIBILITIES"!

This quilt is another step in this journey. It gave me a vehicle to applaud those African-American women who also began a journey of self-discovery- the enjoyment of their passion- JAZZ.

I thank my mother for sharing her passions with me, her love of creativity and music.

Thank you, Sisters, for exploring the "possibilities"!
