About Celeste B. Janey & Yellow Rose

I am a Christian, a believer in Jesus Christ. I believe that my talents are a gift from the Lord, and are honored as such. I try to honor this gift by providing the best product for my customers. I include a little appliquéd Yellow Rose on each product so my customers will take away a little "piece of love" with them.

Thirty years ago when I was introduced the African-American holiday of Kwanzaa, I first heard about the Nguzo Saba. Nguzo Saba is Swahili words that mean "Seven Principles of Life." These seven principles are to guide one's self to the betterment of one's self

  1. Umoja (Unity): to strive for unity in your family and with friends. Peace starts by living together in harmony.
  2. Kujichagulia (Self-Determination): to believe in yourself and your abilities. Take responsibility for your own actions.
  3. Ujima (Collective Works and Responsibility): to focus on working together to solve problems.
  4. Ujamaa: (Cooperative Economics): to use your money and talents to help everyone prosper. Take responsibility for your work.
  5. Nia (Purpose): to plan for the future, using your talents and skills to achieve your goal and help others to achieve theirs.
  6. Kuumba (Creativity): to express yourself with music, art, dance, and thought.
  7. Imani (Faith): to trust others and believe in them. Earn the trust of each other, it's the most valuable thing you'll ever have.

I am also a single parent. My adult children are Sydney Celeste and Benjamin Daniel. Sydney is my resident Graphic Designer, and Ben is my resident technology support person. Both of them are my prayer warriors who support me and the Yellow Rose when ever they can.

As the principle, Imani states, "earn the trust of each other, it's the most valuable thing you'll ever have", I hope you'll have faith in me and the Yellow Rose to serve you well.
